About the artist and Eight Tides

Fliff is a cartoonist and illustrator with a degree in illustration from the Columbus College of Art and Design. Prior to attending college, they began selling their art at local conventions and in 2014 started an Etsy shop to sell any art leftover afterwards.

For years their shop was named Studio Fliff, but just like autocorrect changes Fliff to "fluff," most searches do the same. So, in 2021, while dedicating their art school thesis to running their own art shop, they decided to rebrand and change the name to Eight Tides. "Eight" is for the eight sabbaths on the wheel of the year—a representation of the passage of time—and the word tides is for the the ocean's tides, which represents a small aspiration of theirs; to make enough from their art to go see the ocean.
